What Is Exercise Physiology?
Exercise physiology is the science that dives deep into the body's responses and adaptations to physical activity. It involves understanding the physiological mechanisms that enable exercise, how these mechanisms change with different types of training, and how they can be optimised to improve health, fitness, and athletic performance.
Exercise Physiologists (EPs) are specialists in assessing, planning, programming and delivering exercise. This enables the rehabilitation and prevention of acute, sub-acute and chronic conditions, as well as improving physical performance.
Our accredited Exercise Physiologists are experienced, evidence-based practitioners providing you with safe and effective exercise interventions, every time. Our tailored approach ensures the changes you make are long-lasting so you can live the life you want.
EPs are accredited. Movement Therapy EP delivers a comprehensive functional assessment process and takes the time to listen and educate so you not only achieve your goals, you exceed them!

What Does an Exercise Physiologist Do?
An Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a university-qualified allied health professional trained to assess, plan, program and deliver exercise as a form of treatment. A typical accredited exercise physiologist will:
Assess your injury, condition, movement patterns and goals
Design a personalised, progressive exercise plan
Coach you through correct technique and pacing
Track your progress and adjust your program as you improve
Educate you on managing your condition long term
Because Exercise Physiologists are trained in both exercise science and clinical health, they're equipped to work with complex or high-risk cases that a personal trainer isn't qualified to manage, such as post-surgical rehab, cardiac conditions, cancer recovery or neurological conditions.
Our Approach: Science-Based Exercise Physiology
1 - Evidence-Based Practices:
Our programs draw on current research in exercise science, not trends or guesswork.
2 - Individualised Care:
Your program is built around your assessment results, not a template.
3 - Comprehensive Services
From chronic disease management to sports performance and group classes, it's all under one roof.
4 - A Fully Equipped Clinic
Our space is set up with the right equipment to support rehabilitation, strength training and performance work.

1. Book online.
Choose a time that suits you.
2. Complete a pre-screening questionnaire.
Once your booking is completed, you’ll be sent an email with a pre-screening questionnaire. This online form should be completed prior to your consult.
3. Subjective assessment.
Appointments start with a 'subjective assessment' in which the EP will ask you a series of questions designed to discover what they need to know about your condition.
4. Your plan
Following this, the EP will ask you to perform several tests and movements. This will provide objective data to assist in creating a treatment plan to achieve your goals.
