Beef Burgers & Chips: A Healthy Twist on a Classic

This recipe proves that healthy eating doesn't have to be boring! Enjoy a delicious and satisfying burger and chips combo without the guilt.

Yields: 1 serving Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 100g extra lean beef mince

  • 1 Tip Top Sandwich Thin

  • Lettuce leaves

  • 2 slices tomato

  • Onion, sliced

  • 280g Spud Lite potatoes

  • Light spray coconut oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat: Preheat your oven to 185°C.

  2. Prep the Chips: Slice the Spud Lite potatoes into chip-like shapes and place them in a container with water. Microwave for 5-6 minutes, or until slightly softened (parboiled).

  3. Season the Beef: While the potatoes are microwaving, season the beef mince with paprika, chilli, onion powder, herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into a patty.

  4. Bake the Chips: Drain the parboiled potatoes and place them on a baking tray. Lightly spray with coconut oil and bake in the preheated oven until golden and crispy.

  5. Cook the Patty: Lightly spray a pan with coconut oil and cook the beef patty to your desired doneness.

  6. Assemble the Burger: Layer lettuce, tomato, onion, and the cooked beef patty on the Sandwich Thin.

  7. Serve: Serve the burger with the crispy baked chips.
